The highlight

Date of news/blog: 5th June 2024

Given the range of activities at Brockington House, it’s impossible to choose a favourite but few would argue that the highlight in May was a visits from students from The Royal National College for the Blind.

Our ladies and gents have gratefully benefited from their lovely massages and general interaction and it’s also provided some great hands on experience for the students. Hopefully this is just the start of a longer term link between Brockington and the College.

We continue to have lovely trips courtesy of out tour operator Myley and one involved a trip to The Cider Museum. All enjoyed the tour around the museum learning the history of our famous cider making city and then a tasting session and trip to the tea shop.

Also in May we had our usual visits from entertainers, including the wonderful Banjo Brian, balloon and ball games to keep our ladies and gents in Mortimer physically and mentally active and we even had some axe throwing, but thankfully the plastic version rather than the real one.

Combined with sing-a-longs, arts and crafts and much more, it added up to another busy month in the home.
