Date of news/blog: 12th January 2018Dormy Care Communities first home will be in Abergavenny, South Wales and construction is well underway. Nestling in the Welsh Valleys with views of the Blorenge Mountain, this stunning new care home will be a place our residents will be proud to call home.
Our luxurious flagship home, “Foxhunters Care Community” is due to open to residents late 2018 and will offer 70 ensuite rooms, fully furnished with complimentary Wi-Fi, personal telephone line and a call system to gain assistance from staff when needed. Alternatively we will also have unfurnished accommodation available for those who wish to bring their own furniture.
The home will offer a fine dining experience with a varied menu using locally sourced produce. We also have a private dining room that residents and families can use for those special occasions. In addition there is a coffee shop offering complimentary hot and cold drinks and delicious snacks throughout the day. A great social point of the home for visitors, families and residents alike!
All communal areas are varied and suitable for groups or a cosy corner to just read a book and take in the surroundings. A fully stocked bar will allow our residents to join in social events or just have a quiet drink with families and friends.
Our new home in Abergavenny will have a gym with the very latest in equipment designed for the older client. Working with HUR, a Finnish company, we will ensure that exercise really is accessible to all. We will also hold regular fitness classes and supported sessions to promote health and wellbeing for our residents.
A range of in house activities will be on offer 7 days a week that will be driven by our residents. We are also delighted to be able to offer a complimentary chauffeur driven, wheel chair accessible, vehicle for those trips to the local towns and villages. There will also be an in house hair salon and therapy room to ensure you can feel pampered at all times.
With beautiful landscaped gardens and sensory areas, residents will be encouraged to enjoy the facilities inside and out of the home and benefit from the simple pleasures of things they may well have done in the past.
