Keeping fit and active

Date of news/blog: 5th June 2024

Keeping fit and active is an important part of the activity programme and we did a lot of that during May, whether it was exercising in the sun, learning some new dance moves or enjoying trips out.

We took our first bus trip with new tour partner Myley to The Punch Bowl in Hindhead, which is a local beauty spot, and followed this by enjoying tea and cake in the National Trust Cafe.

Our dance teacher Danielle returned for one of her regular sessions and this time we learned the foxtrot and salsa, although our ladies and gentlemen soon remembered the steps from their dancing days.

We have a Flight Week in June so we began preparing in May and this included learning the Sudanese Peacock Dance, complete with some amazing hats.

Carl our fitness instructor led an exercise class outside when the weather was nice and even using the magic table is good for everyone’s physical and mental health as it encourages movement and concentration.
