Daredevil Liv
Date of news/blog: 5th September 2023Like her father before her, daredevil Liv Button recently took the plunge to raise money for a charity very close to her heart.
The 22-year-old dived out a plane from 10,000 feet as part of a fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Liv chose that particular charity because she works in the housekeeping team at Pine Martin Grange. The home has ladies and gentlemen who are living with dementia so it’s something Liv is passionate about.
Liv says: “My dad has already done a skydive and I have always been a bit of an adrenaline junkie so when I decided to do something for charity, I knew it had to be that.
“My parents kindly paid for me to do it and it was such an amazing experience.”
So far, Liv has raised £650 for the Alzheimer’s Society but she still has her Just Giving page for any further donations and so is hoping to increase this further.
“I have worked at Pine Martin Grange for over three years, and I love spending time chatting with the ladies and gentlemen and finding out about their lives,” she says.
“Unfortunately, dementia can rob people of these memories, so it’s nice to be able to raise money for a charity which is leading the way in research into, and support for, those living with dementia.”
Helen Lacey, Home Director at Pine Martin Grange, said: “We are very proud of Liv. She is such a quiet, diligent member of the team that we were all surprised when she announced her sky dive. She’s definitely braver than me!”
Not one to rest on her laurels, Liv is already planning her next daredevil adventure, which could possibly involve a skydive with her dad, this time from 15,000 feet!
