Brockington House Marketing Suite now open!
Date of news/blog: 25th April 2019Members of the public got their first glimpse behind the scenes at a new luxury care home – Brockington House, Hereford which will fully open Summer 2019.
The Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Sue Boulter, officially opened the Brockington House marketing suite on the 25th April, welcoming visitors in to tour part of the new nursing home.
Brockington House will offer residential, nursing and dementia care, featuring a range of exceptional services for residents to enjoy including a bar, cinema, café, gym, activities lounge and a varied menu from fine dining to lighter bites, created by the home’s very own chef.
The home will even provide a free chauffeur service for residents to make trips to the surrounding area, encouraging residents to live active lifestyles.
The Mayor of Hereford, Councillor Sue Boulter, was given a tour of part of the £12 million home which will create 120 new jobs and was impressed by what she saw.
“The new jobs Brockington House creates is absolutely fantastic for the city and the surrounding area,” she said.
“I’m delighted that something like this is happening in Hereford. The site has been derelict for a long, long time and it’s great for the community and for the people who live around here.
“People are living longer than ever before and deserve to enjoy their lives to the full as they get older. This provides them with the opportunity to do so, with the coffee shop, gym and cinema etc. It’s absolutely wonderful and I can’t wait to move in!”
So far, more than 300 people have applied for the 120 jobs Brockington House will create when it opens later this summer.
Helen Davies-Parsons CEO of Dormy Care Communities, the operator of the new Hereford Home was delighted to welcome so many visitors.
“We’ve have had some of our neighbours in today which has been lovely and we will be good neighbours,” she said.
“We want to be part of the community. I actually live here for most of the time now and very much feel that I am part of Hereford now, bringing a new concept for care for older people.
“It’s a lifestyle choice and very much about living life. It’s not about sitting in a corner and just watching TV and having some sort of baby sitter looking after you. It’s not about that. It’s about coming in, having fun, enjoying the facilities – our bar, the coffee shop and the gym and everything else that goes on here. It’s going to be vibrant and full of life and that’s exactly as care facilities in my view should be.
“The vision is here. The team that are coming on board get it and will absolutely embrace it and that’s only going to mean the best quality care in the best possible environment for any ladies or gentlemen who come to live with us. We look forward to showing people around.”
Brockington House Home Director, Shann Thomas, echoed Helen Davies-Parsons’ sentiments and said anyone interested in having a tour of the suite is welcome to visit.
We would love to show anyone interested in Brockington House around, from potential residents to people living nearby or in the local community who just want to find out more about us.”
