Bramshott Grange VIP Opening
Date of news/blog: 22nd April 2018Thursday 3rd May saw the sun shine as our second home officially opened! Residents, families, friends, members of the local community and key Healthcare professionals attended our amazing event. Visitors toured our stunning new home whilst enjoying champagne and canapés to the sound of a local flautist. Local Town Crier, Terry, did a fabulous job of announcing the order of events. Terry is in charge of Liphook in Bloom a fantastic community event.
Libby Barrett, Home Director, took the opportunity to announce the Local Hero winner. We were overwhelmed with the nominations, but sadly there could only be one winner!
Irene Ellis – along with other volunteers has kept the Liphook Laundry going even when it was threatened with being shut down and continues to fundraise for it now. There is no other service like this in Hampshire, dealing with on average 25 to 30 bags of laundry per week for the elderly or people who are ill and cannot manage their own laundry. This ensures people can maintain their dignity and continue to feel clean and loved. Irene was presented with flowers, a glass trophy and a cheque towards this fabulous service. Thank you, Irene, for all you do for the community.
Following a warm welcome from Chief Executive Helen Maiello, Professor Martin Green, OBE, Chief Executive of Care England declared the home officially open.
We are all so proud of the team, the home and thank you to our residents who have taken their first steps to move in. It is truly an honour to welcome our founder residents to their new home.
