Benefiting old and young

Date of news/blog: 5th June 2024

The partnerships we have built up with local schools are important to us as we are big advocates of intergenerational care, a concept which brings different generations together to benefit both young and old.

In May, we welcomed back pupils Llanfoist Fawr School. It was a beautiful Welsh day, so the children were busy in the garden with our ladies and gentlemen doing a craft activity.

Then, with the help of the lovely team at Ysgol Yfenni Cymraig, we made a wish come true. One of our ladies, Ellen, always wanted to be a primary school teacher and she got that opportunity to assist in teaching at this local Welsh school. She said it was wonderful.

We also enjoyed our Dementia UK Time for a Cuppa coffee morning in May. It was definitely a real team effort with lots of lovely cakes from our talented kitchen team, music from our ladies and gentlemen and lots of chatting and singing along. It’s great when everyone gets involved!

We also resumed our trishaw trips and had lots of nice visits to local attractions courtesy of our tour partner Myley.
