Anita Jones
Date of news/blog: 15th December 2023Up until very recently, 88-year-old former postmistress Anita Jones was very active – still able to drive, attending history classes, singing, and going to church, among many things.
Unfortunately, falls which resulted in a broken leg and hip affected her mobility, so her family realised she needed a little extra support until she was able to get fully back on her feet.
They looked into respite care for Anita and with this resulted in her daughter Adele visiting Foxhunters.
Adele explains: “We were looking for somewhere in Abergavenny and some friends recommended Foxhunters to me.
“I was so impressed when I visited and knew it was the right place for mum. I joked that we were checking her into The Ritz Hotel for a few weeks.”
Anita has since decided to make Foxhunters her permanent home, which everyone is happy about.
“The staff have been very caring and attentive and it’s the perfect place for her,” said Adele.
Anita says she is very happy at Foxhunters and as well as taking part in activities, she looks forward to visits from her family and her beloved German Shepherd dog Frankie.
“He gets so excited when he comes into my room and all the staff love him,” says Anita.
“I have a lovely room with a lovely view and I am happy here.”
