First section of new £12 million care community opens to public
Date of news/blog: 27th September 2018More than 100 people took a behind the scenes look at a new £12 million luxury care community as Foxhunters in Llanfoist officially opened its marketing suite earlier this week (Monday 20th August).
Work started on Dormy Care’s flagship home in Iberis Road, Llanfoist, last September. As well as providing a mix of residential, nursing and dementia care across its 70 luxury ensuite rooms, Foxhunters features some impressive facilities for residents. These include a cinema, bar, coffee shop, gym and hairdressing salon. It will also offer residents a free wheelchair-friendly chauffeur service and its very own chef, providing a fine dining menu for residents using locally sourced produce.
So far more than 380 people have applied for the 120 jobs the project will create when it opens on November 19th.
The Mayor of Abergavenny – Councillor Teslin Davies, officially opened the suite where people can see what rooms and facilities will look like, as well as get a tour and ask staff any questions they may have about the home.
“I am very impressed by what I’ve seen and I’m sure Foxhunters will be a great success,” said Councillor Davies.
“It’s great for the town in terms of creating new employment opportunities and also how Dormy Care have used and will continue to use local suppliers and partners.
“The staff I’ve met here have told me how proud and excited they are to work here and I’m very grateful to Dormy Care for providing quality and hopefully very enjoyable employment for the local community.
“In Foxhunters, Dormy Care have created a community which will also play an active part in the wider community which surrounds it, taking part in all of the activities that Abergavenny has to offer.
“The council looks forward to engaging with Dormy Care and the people who come to live here, and we hope you all feel welcome as new citizens of Abergavenny.”
