New Dormy Care Communities Home in Abergavenny is Open
Date of news/blog: 27th November 2018The latest addition to the Dormy Care family opened on the 19th November. Foxhunters Care Community in Abergavenny is a luxury purpose-built home and is the first care home development for Carter Lauren, Cardiff.
With 70 fully furnished ensuite bedrooms, including four companion suites to encourage couples to stay together, the home offers residential, nursing and dementia care in a sought-after location in Abergavenny. The home boasts stunning views of the Welsh mountains and beyond and offers plenty of outside space as well as rooms with patio doors.
The home has a range of outstanding facilities to include a coffee lounge, bar, cinema, gym designed for the older person, beauty salon and beautifully designed lounges and dining rooms. All signage is in Welsh and English and is dementia friendly throughout to support those who live with us.
Dormy Care as a whole company is socially responsible through recycling and energy efficient buildings. The home has been fitted with the revolutionary and innovative Tersano Lotus Pro system, supplied by Purozo, which provides the world’s first Stabilised Aqueous Ozone cleaning system. This product is effective, safe and eco-friendly and ensures that there are no toxic cleaning chemicals within the home.
A state-of-the-art nurse call system with a revolutionary falls monitoring system from Eclipse Nurse Call has been fitted throughout the home offering the added security for those at risk of falling. It allows people to have a good nights’ sleep without being unnecessarily disturbed.
A Torvatafel “Magic table”, a Dutch research-based concept, has been fitted in the spacious activities room to help create memories and encourage interaction, particularly for those living with dementia.
