Lifetime achievement award
Date of news/blog: 2nd December 2024Mike Parsons, the Chair of Dormy Care Communities, has received a lifetime achievement award.
Mike received the honour at the 2024 National Care Awards held in London on 29th November.
The award is in recognition of his service in the care industry, which began in 1992 when he founded Barchester Healthcare. By the time he stepped down as Chief Executive in 2013, the company had grown to over 220 homes with 17,000 employees.
Mike has been Chair of Dormy Care Communities since the company was founded in 2017. It has four homes in Hereford, Abergavenny, Hampshire, and Dorset.
Speaking about his award, Mike said: “I am deeply humbled to have received this award for doing what I have always been passionate about – providing quality care to thousands of people and enabling them to live what is often the final chapter of their lives with dignity and a good measure of fun.”
